I had no idea what I was doing. I've heard many
colleagues and friends ask me.."you never did this in high school?" I
guess I never made it to that class. So my struggles with this project
was the vigorous "chipping away" of the linoleum block, heating it to
soften up the surface. Nearly cutting away at my flesh. Once I started
to understand the concept of the "stamp" affect, it all came clear to
me. My inspiration to finish was a picture of niece. I younger version
of Me when I was younger. I thought it would be a great driving point
to finish this ever so tedious method. But like all the other printmaking
methods, it was alot of fun. Patience is truly a virtue. There continues
to be a hint of graphic design in my work. Yet the more hands on method
of linoleum print makes it much more than just a computer drawing.
